Education

Fayette County parents have always strived to prepare their children for successful careers.  Six public school districts and several private institutions offer students future-oriented curricula.  Students have the advantage of taking advance placement classes as part of normal class scheduling.

Students have close access to the nearby post-secondary schools that include top technical schools, Penn State Fayette, and California University.

Preimer Pittsburgh Universities such as Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University are less than an hour away.

Students are also within a short 20 minute drive of West Virgina State University.

REACH (Reaching Educational Achievement with Community Help)

REACH, a division of Fay-Penn Economic Development Council, is the liaison between local businesses and six county public schools and is focused on three primary objectives:
  • Preparing and developing a skilled workforce;
  • Retaining a skilled workforce through greater job opportunities; and
  • Attracting new residents and skilled workers by having a superior education system.
